#LoveMyHood: 24H In NYC

This time, we took on the Big Apple! New York City, famously nicknamed ‘The City that Never Sleeps’, is known for is vibrancy and unique assortment of things to do and see. Overflowing with it’s melting pot of cultures, New York City offers a special vibe that you’re not likely to feel anywhere else in the world. Come along for the ride as we highlight our favorite stops Uptown, Downtown and in Brooklyn.

Uptown

Central Park was our first stop. Undeniably one of the most famous parks in the world, Central Park offers a serene atmosphere right in the middle of the ‘hustle and bustle’ of NYC. Visited popularly for  its historic and well constructed features, it is no surprise that Central Park is one of the most filmed parks in the world.

125th Street

We couldn’t have ended our time Uptown without stopping by the iconic 125th Street in Harlem. 125th Street is the most influential piece of New York City’s ethnic hub. Home to the Apollo Theatre  and soon-to-be home of the Hip Hop Hall of Fame, 125th Street has been known to play a major roll in music hisory.

Downtown

While in Downtown NYC it would be hard to miss the artwork. E Houston & Bowery is an intersection of the city that is consistently frequented by art lovers and tourist. Originally made famous by the work of Andy Warhol,  the area’s artwork is always refreshed with new art by well- known and emerging artists.

Black Tap Burger

Mastering the art of milkshakes has made Black Tap Burger a hot spot in it’s own right. With two locations in Downtown NYC, Soho and Meatpacking District,  Black Tap Burger is revolutionizing the way New Yorkers have milkshakes and burgers.

Brooklyn

Off to the Brooklyn Bridge! Offering incomparable views of Manhattan and Brooklyn, the Brooklyn  Bridge is a common stop for both tourists and New Yorkers.  With our love for music, we couldn’t resisit the tradition of tieing a pair of our headphones on the fence of the bridge!

Spoonbill & Sugartown

While in ‘BK’ we had to stop by our favorite book store, Spoonbill & Sugartown. With it’s  mix of new and vintage covers, this is definitely the book store to visit if you’re feeling a little nostalgic.  Located in the hear of Willamsburg, Brooklyn on Bedford Ave this little book shop will definetly make you feel like a hipster for the day.
